Scattered thoughts and a lonely mind...

How best to sum up myself, and why I am driven to do any of what I do? I think - influences. Poems, song lyrics, an image or a phrase. I don't need to talk about myself - I'd like to think the rest of this site does that well enough on my behalf. So read what you will and make what you will of all of this.

All day I have been closed up
inside rooms, speaking of trivial
matters. Now at last I have come out
into the night, myself a centre of darkness.
Beneath the clouds the low sky glows
with scattered light.

Sometimes it is the simplest things - phrases, scents, songs, thoughts - that are the most moving. This poem I came across recently and I must confess I don't know of the poet, or his work, but I think this is a beautful poem.

And so I'm led on to other poems, and songs (for some lyrics are beautiful poetry), that move me, that have meant something to me. A few of which I shall include here - but later, when I have time :)
